Never came through, ended up canceling, going with other service

Terrible, TERRIBLE experience. I was trying to transport two cars from CT to CA. I chose 1 Shot based on price (first mistake) without checking these listings. I wish I had. I gave the date for pick up, signed the contract, etc. A few days later I got called by a driver saying he was in the neighborhood. 5 days early. So I called, they apologized and said the driver would be there on the agreed upon day. That day came and I called the folks on an ETA. They said the driver would be there by noon. Noon came, I called back and they said they'd just spoken to the driver and he was stuck at an auto auction. They'd come by 4. 4 came, I had to call them back again, and they said that unfortunately it looked like it would move to the next day. they claimed the driver "wasn't being straight with them and he was at a repair shop getting his truck fixed." I was flying out the next day so it put me in a bind. But what could I do?

So the next day came around and again, the same thing. I get fed a line like, "oh, the driver is running late, or I can't reach the driver." No show that entire day. Meanwhile, I've moved across the country. Next day, same thing. And again the next day. In every single instance I was promised that they would have a driver there, and in every single instance, no driver every showed up.

In reality, I am not sure they ever actually had a driver lined up. I get the impression that they were making it up on their way and keeping their fingers crossed that they could buy time until they figured out what the heck they were doing.

Also, it was nearly impossible to actually reach anyone via the customer service line (went to Voice Mail and the messages were usually all full, so it hung up on me), so I resorted calling the sales line, where they always picked up. Hmm..

Worst of all, they kept blaming everyone else but themselves through the process along the lines of, "well, the driver really screwed us both over" or "you just don't understand this industry... this is just what happens sometimes." Sorry, guys, if you can't execute against your contract, assume blame and don't pass it on to everyone else. I'm paying YOU after all.

I finally got fed up and after the SIXTH day of missed deadlines and lies, I canceled my order and went with another company. Honestly, I think 1 Shot was happy to be rid of me and they happily refunded my deposit (though I should check to make sure it happened!). Within the hour, the new company (All American Transport) had me confirmed with a driver and scheduled a pick up two days later. The driver came as expected and delivered my cars to my house in perfect order 3 days faster than anticipated.

In short, I couldn't have been MORE disappointed with the service and professional nature of 1 Shot, but couldn't have been happier that I went to another company. In all, I spent only $200 more total than I would have with 1 Shot, but it was the best $200 I've ever spent.

You should at least have the decency to say 1 shot express refunded your deposit. Yet it takes someone like you to give anyone a bad reputation. You kept changing the dates refused two carriers and it's all documented but would not expect any less from you. Thank you.
